HAkiosk Terms of Service
Last updated: 27 August 2026
These terms ("Terms") govern your use of the HAkiosk iOS / iPadOS and Android applications and the companion web dashboard at hakiosk.com/control (together, the "Service"), provided by Priit Pärna ("HAkiosk", "we", "us").
By downloading, installing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. What the Service does
HAkiosk is a kiosk-mode app that displays a web page of your choice in full-screen on iPads, iPhones, and Android tablets and phones. The optional Fleet Control web dashboard lets you remotely manage a group of paired devices — pushing URLs, refreshing screens, triggering screensavers, locking devices behind a PIN, and pulling on-demand screenshots. The app can also be driven from your own MQTT broker; those messages never pass through us.
2. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for both personal and commercial purposes (including kiosk deployments at exhibitions, cafes, offices, etc.). The iOS App is also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
3. Your account
Using the standalone app requires no account. The Fleet Control dashboard requires you to sign in via Google, Apple, or email/password.
You are responsible for safeguarding your sign-in credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account, including any devices you pair with your workspace.
4. Pricing
The iOS App is sold as a one-time purchase on the Apple App Store, and Fleet Control is included with it. The Android app is free to download and includes the standalone kiosk and MQTT control; Fleet Control, PIN lock and lockdown, camera face-detect wake, scheduling and auto-start on boot are unlocked by "HAkiosk Pro", a one-time in-app purchase. Pricing is set per region by Apple and Google, who also handle payment, receipts and refunds. There is no subscription and no per-device fee on either platform.
We may introduce additional paid tiers or subscription plans in the future. Existing users will receive reasonable advance notice (at least 30 days) and any future paid features will be opt-in. We will not remove functionality from your existing paid version without notice.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- display content that is illegal, infringes intellectual-property rights, is defamatory, harassing, or otherwise unlawful in the jurisdiction where the device is operating;
- display content that targets or harms minors;
- interfere with, probe, or attempt to bypass the Service's security or rate limits;
- scrape, mass-pair, or otherwise abuse the Fleet Control system or the underlying Firebase infrastructure;
- resell or rebrand the Service as your own.
6. Content you display
HAkiosk renders web pages and dashboards you choose. We do not pre-screen, moderate or endorse any third-party content rendered through the Service. You are solely responsible for the legality and appropriateness of what you display.
7. Service availability
The standalone app runs entirely on your device and does not depend on our infrastructure. The same is true of MQTT control on Android, which talks only to the broker you configure. Fleet Control depends on Google Firebase and is provided on a best-effort, no-SLA basis. Outages, latency, or temporary feature unavailability may occur, particularly if Firebase free-tier limits are reached. We may pause, throttle, or terminate Fleet Control in extreme circumstances; we'll communicate such changes on hakiosk.com and via the dashboard where reasonable.
8. Third-party services
The Service depends on Google Firebase, Apple Sign In, Google Sign In, and — for the Android Pro unlock — Google Play Billing. By using Fleet Control you also accept the relevant third-party terms (linked from our Privacy Policy).
9. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR SECURE OPERATION OF THE SERVICE.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY, OR EUR 50, WHICHEVER IS GREATER. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS OR DATA, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold HAkiosk harmless from any claim or demand arising from your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms — for example, content you display that infringes a third party's rights, or unauthorised pairing of devices you don't own.
12. Termination
You can stop using HAkiosk at any time by uninstalling the app or disconnecting devices from Fleet Control. You can delete your /control account by emailing [email protected].
We may suspend or terminate your access to Fleet Control without prior notice if you breach these Terms or if your usage threatens the integrity, security, or cost of the Service.
13. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Estonia. Any dispute will be brought before the competent courts of Estonia, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence grants you a different forum.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced on this page and on hakiosk.com/control with at least 30 days notice where possible. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
